Portable Membrane Filtration System
Using
membranes, this system is designed as an effective water treatment system in rural or disaster areas where electricity is not available. All that is required is for the user to peddle the iWater cycle to produce good quality potable water for up to 20m³/day (for 1300 persons*).
Description and Use
The system is built around a bicycle mounted with the propriety idro PS membrane module. This system is able to remove most bacteria, suspended solid, viruses and macro-molecules from the given water source. This system is operated by peddling and driving the rear wheel of a bicycle which is raised off the ground by a stand. This in turn drive the pump which then pumps water through the membranes providing potable water.
